Start With a Primary Care Home
Obesity care starts with a primary care home
The Western Zone Obesity Network is built around your primary care provider. A family doctor or nurse practitioner — or a primary care clinic — is your home base: they assess you, order lab work, start and adjust medications, make referrals (including to the obesity clinic and bariatric surgery), and follow you over time. If you don’t have a primary care provider yet, here’s how to connect with one in Nova Scotia.
